A Lot of Nothings

So as I never do an outfit post, I decided to do one today. Not that it matters, because I'm fairly sure no one reads my blog, but if you do, I hope you enjoy this.
I think my outfit changed about three times during the day; once at school with tights and black flats, at home with bare legs, those cute H&M floral socks and JC shoes, and going out to Wal-Mart with leggings and boots.

Speaking of Wal-Mart, I got biscotti, my latest addiction. I love it with my tea (which I now store in the Alice in Wonderland tin!).

(Sorry for my messy room! I didn't know where else to take the picture!)

The dress is from Modcloth, and the sweater is something I stole from my dad.

I was listening to the end of a Potter Puppet Pal, and the sax was playing, and since then I've had a strange urge to listen to it. So the first thing I did was youtube 'saxophone', and fell in love with Kaori Kobayashi (小林香織). She is fantastic! I wish I continued to play piano, flute or singing, but I really hated it at the time. I do still sing with my friend sometimes, who is lucky enough to continue with music, and she can play piano and sing for some of the songs we like (Samson, Ordinary Day, Almost Lover). It's fun.

Also have been addicted to sporcle. Fun, until you realize you cannot stop playing. I even got my dad hooked, he keeps playing the game where you name all the countries in the world. I"m not sure if he's got all of them yet, but last time I checked he was only missing six, which is a pass in my books.

Hope you all had a fun day! I'm off to finish a history of landscape photography powerpoint and studying for my math and chem test on Friday!
xoxo

Your badonkadonk

I found this after it was out of stock, but I'm highly jealous of anyone who owns it. It's from Modcloth, and here's the description:

A-yo, listen up! You're not going to find a more dope set of flashcards than these. Are you looking to add some 'fresh' to your figures of speech or jock up your arsenal of slang? Don't be a hater, and roll with this colorful deck of 50 cards, each including its own punctuation guide, definition, synonyms, an illustration to help with context, and an educational sample sentence. Looking for a boss birthday present for a homie? Simply share with them this gift of gangster cards, and your friendship will be tight as ever! Truth.

I find them really funny. I wish I had bought them for my one friend, she would have loved them.

Word.

Where would you go with a lasso?

My friend gave me a suggested listening of this song by Phoenix, its called Lasso. Its amazing. Ugh if I knew how to put a video up from youtube I would. But I'm too tech challenged to do that.

Going shoe shopping tonight because my friend's boots are destroyed. There's a five inch hole by the toe. I may buy something, we will see.

:) I get to design a tee shirt for photo class. I'm thinking little girl with balloon. I'll post the sketches and final product when its done, or when my computer decides to not freeze with folders being open. Whatever comes first.
I was going to design a t-shirt anyways, but with black marker instead of a print. I'll have both at the end of this. Here's some of my ideas for the shirt:
feathers
balloons
monsters
unicorns
art nouvea style
underwater (octapus)
boats
birds
trees
skull
tapes/radio
robots
limited colour (mainly b/w)
faires
cage

xoxo sorry for the lack of pictures, next time!

Danny Roberts

So most of you guys know about the shirt 'Girls In Glasses' by Danny Roberts. To be honest, I only found out about him through this shirt, and various blog postings of it.

It comes in the painting form which is just as fantastic, just not as wearable.

And then comes the new work that I found of his on his website. I like this one because the colours are so vibrant, and then the volume of her hair (hat?).
Reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. What can I say.
I just reallllllllllllllly love this one. I know its based on love. But I really do. The embrace just makes their passion look so strong and yet they they come off as fragile and ugh idk I just love this. Plus red hair and I have a nice bond.

This doesn't really need words. Its faboulocity speaks for itself.

But I do love winged eyeliner. And his signature round blushed cheeks. So cute.

Cheeky. I like it. Plus candy is mentioned. Whats not to love.

Ok, reminds me of art nouveau, plus is got voluminous skirts. Kinda reminds me of 1700/1800's gowns, so that is always a plus.
Sexy over the should glance. LBD + big bow = :)

Okay so my brief reflections on each piece suck I know. But go check out his site, its fantastic. Once I convince myself( ormom to lend me her visa ) to shop online again, one of the first purchases I will want to make is for one of his prints. One question- which one?

(second item would be the JC Xray, if I can get it)

blah

I've been sick lately, and just overall feeling very un-inspirational, so I've posted nothing as of late. However, after taking a super long hot bubble bath, and viewing some of my all time favorite movies -Pride and Predjuce, and the Notebook, also saw the Time Traveler's Wife but was too upset over the misuse of The time travel laws and correct my mom of the basic plot to notice that I didn't like it- and getting My Favorite Things from The Sound of Music (which is impossible hard to find on youtube, so much that I gave up) I felt a lot better.

Anyways, I've been on the search for the perfect lipstick. I don't even really know what I want though. It's a redish/pinkish(but I hate pink, so I'm not that willing to admit it) natural but not. If that made any sense, and you know of one, please tell me. PS I hate shimmer, or super glossy. I did find one that was freakishly close to what I wanted in an advertisement, but I can't remember what it was for... :( I know it was a high key shot, if that helps any...

I'll stop rambling, give you this fantastic picture from the Sartorialist - On the Street....Aldwych, London. I love red lipstick. <3

I missed the nice day out today because I was at work, but I was very envious of the people outside with no coats on (but many still donned them in the 5 degree weather). If you have not hear me say it before, I'll say it again - I'm so ready for spring. I want to break free of my heavy black coat, and bury those black buckled boots with salt stains until next winter. The other day I couldn't take it, so I wore light pinks and purples, but no one saw it (minus my makeup) because I still kept my coat done up. Shame.
This Nina Ricci bag is what I wish I could to feel like spring is here, pretty lilac and cream floral. So adorable. I hope it warms up soon!

Marie

Elisa Palomino's debut was very floral and pink, and although I do have a strong dislike for that colour, I love this. The hair is fantastic, I love the volume and oversized flowers that are placed on the part. The makeup too, is a joy to look at, blush applied high on the cheeks and lips of the same colour (mainly pink and orange tones)

Ugh I wish spring would come already, I'm so sick of the cold. I want to pull out a sun dress and wear something other than my only pair of snow proof boots.

Videos

So I've been a lazy state lately, as the long weekend just ended, so I don't have much to comment on what I've been wearing, but I have been watching some of the shows from NY fashion week on youtube from Nylon's channel. All of them are brilliant so far, but here are a few stand outs.

Though they didn't show the runway, this video had some of the dresses for Alice + Olivia. LOVE the ribbons on the sleeves of the jeweled gown, and the silk draped bottom on one of the dresses and the 1920's theme. Overall, very cute, and fun.

I'm not a huge fan of music artists going into fashion, but Gwen's L.A.M.B is an exception. I loved the corests peaking out of the jackets, and the baggy silhouettes on these clothes! The hair makeup is a bit of a draw back, with the harsh lips and eyes, and very blunt bangs combined.

This video made me laugh, and the clothing is fantastic. Love what the 'murder' is wearing! Plus the hair, I love the 40's (?) look.

RIP McQueen

A truly unique visionary and will be sorely missed.
